Collage
My collages combine figure studies and paintings with wood, cardboard, old windows, and other found objects. These pieces are a meditative journey through my own history; combining drawings from different decades of my practice has special resonance for me. The discipline of collage has encouraged me to think more abstractly. I want all of my work to inspire people to look at things in fresh ways; and to see what might be considered “castoff” as valuable, whether as information or as building material. I want to encourage people to rebuild – things, ideas, social constructs – in ways that intrigue them, in ways they may have been afraid to try.
